Alternative Fuels
Alternative fuels otherwise known as AFR are any materials or substances that can be used as a replacement of fossil fuels.
Main sources of AFR:
- Refuse Derived Fuels (RDF)
- Rice husks
- Coconut husks
- Bagasse
- Waste textiles (Used Carpet, etc.)
- Waste tires
- Used oils/solvents
- Sewage Sludge
- Biomass
- Etc.
PEG’s expertise in Alternative Fuels
PEG is the only company able to offer a complete alternative fuel package from A to Z. What we mean by this is that PEG covers the entire waste to energy spectrum. We go from the raw waste i.e. the dumpsite through to the production of the RDF/AFR and the ability to co-process it inside the cement plant.
PEG works from the establishment of the dumpsite right through to the production and sale of the fluff, as well as the design supply and installation of the necessary feed systems for the concerned plant and then the optimization of the cement making process i.e. the adaptation of the chemistry in order to co-process the waste as efficiently and as quickly as possible.
Services offered
PEG is specialized in AFR projects combining know-how of the cement technology as well as know- how of waste preparation and utilization technologies.
Dumpsite services:
- Identification of local sources of available waste and a determination of the properties and values of the available secondary fuels
- Techno-commercial feasibility study and permit processing
- Establishment of new dumpsites and dumping plateaus
- Sanitization of existing landfills and dumpsites
- Organization of the most efficient methanisation processes
- Establishment of recycling processes
- Design and installation of sorting lines and preparation factories, handling and feeding technologies required for the preparation of the fluff (RDF)
- Cooperation with local waste management systems, industries and communities
- Landfill mining
- Raising of funds sourcing investors for the said investments
Cement plant services:
- Technical and financial feasibility studies relating to the co-processing of the AFR but also with regards to the necessary investment for the transport, storage and feed systems
- Design and implementation of feed systems required to process AFR at the cement plant
- Supervision of installation and start up
- Optimization adjustments of the plant processes and operation
- Implementation of a secondary fuel management system within the cement plant
- Application relating to carbon credit
- Raising of funds sourcing investors for the said investments
